Summer is slowly coming to an end, and the Notte Bianca (literally, White Night) welcomes local people as well as people coming from abroad to a wide range of concerts, exhibitions, events and entertainment along the maze of Genoa streets and squares; a new Genoa, ready to get discovered.
The Notte Bianca (literally, White Night), taking place on September 11th this year, is one of the most longed-for events in Genoa.
In 2010 the Notte Bianca hosts two of the most prominent Italian singers, Lucio Dalla and Francesco De Gregori, and gives the chance to perform to new emerging artists, having local people and people from abroad to fully enjoy a wide range of events. The perfect chance to come and meet a new Genoa with its maze of streets and alleys and squares. Genoa gets dressed up for this eventful night with live music being performed up to the first lights of dawn, and amazing stages come to life in most of the city centre squares.
The 2010 edition offers a tribute to the USA at its opening, followed by entertainment throughout the whole city; from Principe neighborhood, passing along the sea-front; the Galata Museum and the Luzzati Museum on one side, and Balbi area and the historical centre on the other side, down to Brignole and Piazza della Vittoria, where the majestic event of this edition, the Dalla - De Gregori concert, is due to take place. In the very heart of Genoa, Piazza De Ferrari, a stage, especially dedicated to the fans of the "Beat, Piper and Bandiera Gialla", will host, among the others, Patty Pravo and Shel Shapiro. The Porto Antico will see new young artists, such as Simone Cristicchi, Tonino Carotone and Roy Paci. And, as if this were not enough, other exhibitions, shows, entertainment for children, guided tours and stands with local products throughout the city.
And event which cannot definitely be missed!
