Maps and directions in Genoa Italy are a must, especially in case you travel to Genoa by car, since this is one of the most complex and hard-to-follow city centres throughout Italy.

For those travelling to Genoa and to the Locanda di Palazzo Cicala by train, the nearest railway station is Genova Brignole. It takes 15-20 minutes walking, while it is only 5 minutes away by bus or taxi.

For those flying over to Genoa, the city centre is 16 km away from the Cristoforo Colombo Airport. The "Volabus" travels to Piazza Principe railway station; another option is the taxi area, which is just outside the airport.

Maps and directions in Genoa are of vital importance for those travelling by car; this is why we always suggest to print them out and have them with you during the trip to Genoa.

The exit from the highway is GENOVA OVEST; then take the Sopraelevata (literally, it is a street above ground level), direction "Centro Città", then the exit is the 2^nd on the right ("Prefettura/De Ferrari).

As soon as you have left the Sopraelevata there is the City Park, the easiest and nearest parking facilities.; you can park your car and walk down to the hotel.

Walking out of the City Park, you get to Piazza Dante; go left until you reach the Piazza De Ferrari (the square with the fountain in the middle), then left again following to Piazza Matteotti, the square where Palazzo Ducale is located.

Walk down along Via San Lorenzo until you reach the San Lorenzo Cathedral.

The Locanda is located on the 1^st floor in the palazzo just opposite the Cathedral, and next to the bar Oltreconfine.

It is also possible to reach the hotel by car. Once you have left the Sopraelevata at the end of tunnel, after a narrow bend on the right, follow up along Via Vernazza, go past a first traffic-lights, always straight, and then turn left. Past the second traffic-lights, having Piazza De Ferrari (the big square with the fountain in the middle) on your right, take the street (Via Petrarca) which is just in front of you, and at the end of Via Petrarca turn right into Via di Porta Soprana. Keep driving for roughly 100 mt having Palazzo Ducale on your right until you reach the very beginning of Via San Lorenzo.

When you get there, turn right, following the directions to Locanda di Palazzo Cicala; keep driving along Via Tommaso Reggio (it runs parallel to Via San Lorenzo) until its very end. Here, Piazza Invrea, you can use our temporary parking space, time to leave your luggage and check-in at reception. To go back to the City Park, you need to drive backwards, turning left into Via Meucci, and from there reaching Piazza Dante again.
