The palazzo sits at Piazza San Lorenzo 16, 16123 Genova (GE), Italy — on the square directly facing Genoa's cathedral, in the pedestrianised heart of the old town.

By air

Genoa's airport, Genova Cristoforo Colombo, is about 16 km from the city centre. An airport shuttle bus ("Volabus") runs roughly every 30 minutes into the centre, and there's also an ordinary city bus option (route 124 to Cornigliano, then route 1 to Piazza Caricamento, followed by a 10–15 minute walk to the old town). A taxi rank is also available at the airport.

By rail

Genoa has two main railway stations: Genova Brignole and Genova Principe, both fairly central. Brignole is roughly a 15–20 minute walk from Piazza San Lorenzo, or a few minutes by bus or taxi.

On foot, once you're in the old town

The old town is compact and walkable. From Piazza De Ferrari (the city's central square, near Palazzo Ducale and the Teatro Carlo Felice), it's a short walk down Via San Lorenzo to the cathedral and the piazza it stands on. Like many historic Italian centres, the old town falls within a restricted traffic zone (ZTL), so it's best explored on foot; the nearest public car parks include City Park (Piazza Dante) and the Mercanzia car park near Piazza della Raibetta.
