Rooms & the hall

Alongside its five apartments, Locanda di Palazzo Cicala offered hotel-style rooms and a shared hall/lounge on the palazzo's noble floor. Here's what the archived pages said about them.

The rooms

The double rooms were described as almost all facing the quiet Piazza Scuola Pie, on the palazzo's first "noble floor," with high vaulted ceilings decorated with stucco work. Room size was given as roughly 30–40 square metres, furnished with a mix of contemporary design pieces and antique furniture. Press coverage over the years put the room count at around ten (one 2004 write-up said fifteen) — the figure varies between sources, so we're hedging rather than stating an exact number.

The hall

The hotel's lounge/hall looked out over 16th-century Piazza San Lorenzo, with a view of the Cathedral through large windows. It was furnished with contemporary sofas and armchairs and, per the archived pages, a large painting by a contemporary artist. The building's restoration was credited to architect Andrea Freggia.

Meeting space

A meeting room named "Sala Miró" is described in an earlier archived capture: roughly 45 square metres, with a stated capacity of 35 people theatre-style, 20 classroom-style, or 42 for a banquet layout. The same page mentions an on-site restaurant, "Le Cantine Squarciafico," and describes the possibility of booking the hotel in its entirety for private or corporate events.
