Who we are

Hotels Genoa (this website) is a non-commercial editorial guide, rebuilt from public Wayback Machine archives to preserve historical information about a Genoa palazzo hotel and its surrounding area. It is not operated by, or affiliated with, the hotel it describes.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to register or submit personal details to browse the site. Standard web-server logs record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time of the request, used only to operate and secure the site. If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you choose to submit, in order to reply to you; see the contact-form-specific note below.

Cookies and advertising

This site displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and, where enabled, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

You can opt out of personalised Google advertising via Google Ads Settings, and control or block cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from reading the guide.

Contact form data

When you submit the contact form, your name, email address and message are emailed to the site owner and also written to a private, non-public server log as a backstop in case email delivery fails. This data is used only to respond to your enquiry and is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing.

Legal basis and your rights (UK GDPR)

Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Advertising cookies are used with your consent, indicated by your continued use of the site; you may withdraw consent at any time via the opt-out links above or your browser's cookie controls. Contact-form data is processed to respond to your message, on the basis of your consent in submitting it. You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Third parties

Google AdSense and, where used, Cloudflare (content delivery / security) are independent controllers or processors with their own privacy policies. We do not sell personal data.
